Directions to the Encaustic Art Institute
EAI is nestled on a high mesa between Albuquerque and Santa Fe (shown by the Circle EAI). Two routes from Albuquerque are both scenic and easy.Take I-40 east from Albuquerque to Tijeras, and then, take Exit 175 (NM-14 north). You will pass through the towns of Golden, Madrid, and then Cerrillos, heading east-southeast for about two Miles. Look for the EAI pyramid on the right. Then, turn right (east), onto County Road 55A (General Goodwin Road), then continue one-half block, and turn right into EAI site. (See Maps Below.)
Or, you can take I-25 north out of Albuquerque and take the Madrid exit to the scenic Turquoise Trail (Hwy 14), heading south 13 miles, then turn left (east) onto County Road 55A (General Goodwin Road) and continue one-half block and turn right into EAI site.
If coming south from Santa Fe, take Exit 278-A (Madrid exit), south on NM-14, the Turquoiose Trail, and travel approximately 13 miles, then turn left (east) onto County Road 55A (General Goodwin Road), then one-half block, and turn right into EAI site. Google Maps.
