The 2020 (MMXX) Beginnings National Encaustic/Wax Juried Exhibition, juried by Kathleen Waterloo was based on the theme of “new beginnings.” Entries opened in January 2020 and asked artists to explore the idea of what the new decade might have in store creatively for them. The exhibit opened near the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic’s emergence in the US, altering the ability to hold an in-person exhibition and ushering in a year of dramatic changes world-wide.
