Artist Statement:

This painting is of Cedar Hill State Park just southeast of Dallas. The day of my visit the park was severely flooded. All of the trails were closed and the majority of the picnic areas were underwater. The year is only half over but 2024 has already been one of the top 5 wettest years in Dallas’ recorded history with March doubling the previous 70 year old record.
