Artist Statement:
For ‘Global Warming is REAL’ 2024, my work depicts the alarming effect climate change has on our natural world, specifically species endangerment and habitat reduction. My submitted art utilizes encaustic, fragments of abandoned animal homes, dried plant ephemera, or honeycomb–emphasizing vacated habitats. Dimensional texture, contrast, and movement underscore change in our global atmosphere. Weather extremes, urban sprawl, and loss of animal habitat are just part of our earth’s fallout, forecasting human eviction.
