Artist Statement:

One interpretation, (there are many): A grid, the symbol of human systems, breaks down. Continuous river-like lines move across the washed-out surface below the grid: a path of adaptation and survival.

This is the first finished piece I made using cold wax, so I was very experimental in my approach. I emphasized the contrasting textures the wax creates by using a monochromatic color palette.
