Artist Statement:

Jewels of Depth evokes a submerged, luminous terrain where pressure, beauty, and endurance converge. Dense layers of encaustic and oil create a crystalline surface of deep blues, mineral whites, and earthen greens, forming a sense of weight and immersion. Embedded fiber suggests veining, fractures, and hidden structures, like geological seams or emotional strata beneath the surface.

Light moves through the composition as if filtered through water and stone, revealing glints of radiance within darker depths. The work reads as an inner landscape shaped by compression and persistence; where what is buried becomes precious. Within the Realms: Solace for Sacrifice series, the painting frames resilience as something formed under pressure, honoring the quiet transformation of struggle into strength and beauty.
