Artist Statement:

Nature Prevails reflects the quiet resilience of the natural world. Delicate grasses and pine needles, gathered from the landscape and preserved in encaustic wax, become enduring records of life that continues to adapt and regenerate. The translucent layers of wax mirror the passage of time, protecting these fleeting elements while revealing their vulnerability. Rather than depicting environmental loss, this work celebrates nature’s persistent capacity to endure despite change. It invites viewers to pause, observe the beauty often overlooked, and recognize our connection to the ecosystems that sustain us. In acknowledging both fragility and strength, Nature Prevails offers hope that resilience begins with awareness, stewardship, and a renewed relationship with the living world.
