Artist Statement:

Fragile Remnants is full of tension. On one side, a pale, weathered surface is marked by fissures and shifting textures, evoking parched erosion and the visible stress of a changing climate. On the other, embedded leaf forms emerge in a deep, translucent field—delicate imprints that carry the memory of living systems. The preserved leaves speak to continuity, to the quiet persistence of life even as conditions transform.

This piece acknowledges environmental strain while honoring nature’s capacity to endure, imprint, and re-root itself in altered landscapes. In this way, the work offers a vision of resilience and the potential for renewal.
