Artist Statement:

This piece is one of my series “helene”. The medium is layered hot clear wax and oil paint. It is the river from my studio window. As my fellow artists and I determined to wade our way through this Asheville disaster of 2024, we promised to find the beauty in it. I was drawn to the immediate elegance of our river attempting to right itself.
