Artist Statement:

In my encaustic work I explore the fragility and beauty of Earth’s ecosystems in the face of a changing climate. This piece, with it’s fluid boundaries, vivid pigments, and incised lines, speaks to the way natural systems are being pulled out of balance – melting, burning, eroding, and adapting in ways both awe-inspiring and unsettling. This piece feels like a map of both damage and beauty – like nature speaking, still shifting, reaching for balance. My hope is that the viewers feel the urgency. There’s still time.
