Gallery Purchases:
The Institute Member Gallery and any current exhibitions are viewable online, and the Museum of Encaustic Art is open (see hours on website home page or website footer).
There are three ways you can purchase artwork or pay for Workshops or other services through the EAI website.
Option 1: If you see a piece in person that you’d like to purchase online using PayPal, credit/debit card, Venmo, or Apple Pay – enter the total $ amount for your purchase, click the PROCEED button shown on this page and follow the instructions to complete your purchase and set the shipping/delivery address for your painting.
Option 2: Artwork for sale through our website has an “Add to Cart” button located near the image of the work for sale. Click the “Add to Cart” button to make your purchase. After you click the add to cart button, a “shopping cart” will open on the page with a brief description of the item and the price – for example, the artist last name if it’s a painting purchase. The price in the cart will match the item – please make sure that the cart matches what you intended to purchase.
We will send you a receipt from EAI, as well as Pay Pal sending you a receipt.
Option 3: If you would like to pay for a purchase by check: please make your check payable to Encaustic Art Institute (EAI).
Mail to EAI Office: 18 County Road 55A, General Goodwin Rd, Cerrillos, NM 87010.

Care of your Encaustic Painting
These paintings are extremely archival, but as with any fine art, care should be given to them. There should be no fear of the work melting in normal household conditions. The wax and resin will not melt unless exposed to temperatures over 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Leaving a painting in a car on a hot day would not be advisable or hanging a painting in front of a window with direct desert-like sun. They are also sensitive to freezing cold temperatures.
Some encaustic colors tend to “bloom” or become cloudy over time. If your painting appears indistinct, simply rub the surface with a soft cloth or nylon stocking. Over time the surface retains its gloss as the wax medium continues to cure and harden for up to 1-3 years.
