ARTIST STATEMENT

RED has always called me and inspired me. Red motivates me, excites me, envelops me, directs me, and leads me. I believe it always has, even before I understood the concept of being inspired by it. It does not soothe me, which is not its place in my mind.  Red was not a part of my early life, but began to take its place as I got older. I am not enveloped in red, but it has a strong impact. I have tried to convey this strength in my painting.
