ARTIST STATEMENT

The painting portrays an immigrant from a distant land, caught between the identity of his past and the demands of a new world. He is dressed in elements of his native attire while adopting a more businesslike appearance. These contrasts between past and present, familiarity and changes are immense, which I find inspiring.
