ARTIST STATEMENT

Connecting with the Light inspires me by illustrating a sense of guidance and quiet support. The image of a large, powerful tree limb reaching toward a smaller, younger tree feels like a transfer of light, hope, and strength. This interaction reminds me that growth is often supported by forces we cannot always see. The evening setting, with its strong contrast between darkness and light, creates a glowing effect that I find both calming and uplifting. It inspires me to think about how moments of difficulty can still contain light and possibility. Overall, the painting encourages me to feel supported and to trust that I am not alone, even in uncertain times.
