JUROR TEENA ROBINSON COMMENTS ON JURY PROCESS
Inspiration. Art Moves Us, Artists inspire Us
I’d like to thank all of the artists who submitted work for this show. I appreciate those who truly dove into the idea of inspiration and told their stories. There was a general theme of being inspired by a personal connection to Nature. Some by the grief in their lives or sorting through the process of aging. Also a repeated influence that the chaos in our world is creating. Reading all of the stories touched my heart. It was wonderful to see the beauty that emerged from the most difficult themes. There is always an underlying belief that brings happiness to our lives.
The actual techniques were so varied. Artistic creativity was well represented. The magic of Encaustics was present in all of the entries. Talking of inspiration… just observing all of the styles of painting and how they represented your stories was a treat. Very thought provoking.
I appreciate all of the artists and am honored to be asked to choose the entries for this show.
