ARTIST STATEMENT

This painting took thirteen months to complete. It is an outlier from the rest of my collection because of its almost total lack of color. I was walking grief’s path while creating Paper Wings, and it was the only painting that gave me focus the year after my sister died. Lynn was always the brightest light in any room. This painting represents her light and spirit. It reveals the energy of her life in this world and beyond. Paper Wings reflects on deep feelings and our potential for boundless connection.
