Artist Statement:

The swirling blues of this piece evoke the destabilized rhythms of oceans seen in rising tides, melting glaciers, and weather intensifying events. Flecks of green suggest vanishing ecosystems, while pink and white disruptions hint at unnatural heat piercing through this fragile balance. This abstract piece’s texture mirrors the emotional toil of turbulence, transformation, and beauty under threat. The movement within the brushwork mirrors the fraying of nature’s resilient response to these challenges. At first glance, this could be a very pleasant and idyllic ocean representation with its rich turquoise colors. What lurks beneath is far more serious and in need of stewardship, especially with the current administration’s failure to continue global warming initiatives and recognize the urgency of the warming oceans.
