Artist Statement:

Melting refers to the extreme and continuing heat New Mexico has been subject to. It also refers to the continuing fires in this state. We have a lack of rain and very little accumulated water, such as in rivers and ponds. Although, we have recently been subjected to extreme flooding in parts of the state, while others remain in drought. It is very difficult to comprehend and live with.
