River Stones, Glacier began with a photograph of the colorful river stones in Glacier National Park, Montana. To bring the scene to life, I layered encaustic medium over the image, fusing the wax into the surface. Then, I carved back into each stone, creating texture and depth that makes the rocks feel almost three-dimensional. The result captures not only the beauty of the stones but also the shimmering movement of water as it flows across them.
