Permanent Collection

The Museum of Encaustic Art’s permanent collection was started to archive an eclectic variety of styles and techniques in encaustic/wax art, and to further promote the medium.

The Museum, with over 450 works of art in its permanent collection, has moved from our Santa Fe location to its original location – on the property of the founder, Douglas Mehrens. There are currently 124 pieces of encaustic/wax artwork showing in the new location.

Museum Hours:  April 3 – Nov 29:  Fri/Sat/Sun 11 – 4 pm. Closed Dec/Jan/Feb/Mar. Closed Holidays.

  • Admission fee: $10
    • kids under 18 – free
    • Members of the Encaustic Art Institute – free
    • Members of the Museum – free
