Artist Statement:

Forest fires have become a way of life in many parts of our country. Here in the Pacific Northwest we dread fire season and have learned to live with fires and the ensuing smoke. This piece is before and after a fire goes through a forest, as always, devastating but bringing the hope of renewal.
