Artist Statement:

Melting polar ice, as depicted in this image, is a core consequence of global warming. With rising waters creating new coastlines, effects on humanity and the animal kingdom will grow at an ever-accelerating rate without strong and consistent measures to counteract global warming. Alas, efforts at amelioration are waning. Hopefully, the art community can help to keep awareness of the disastrous effects of global warming in the forefront.
